Our Services

Land Acknowledgement & Action Plans

Good Sky Guidance offers Land Acknowledgment & Action Plan Development, helping you create or improve statements that honor the Indigenous land we inhabit. Our process begins with in-depth research into the historical and current Indigenous presence in your area. We then draft a meaningful acknowledgment and action plan, refining them collaboratively. This ensures your commitment to respecting Indigenous peoples and their land.

Cultural Awareness Trainings

Good Sky Guidance provides training programs to enhance understanding and appreciation of Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issues. Our 'Cultural Awareness Training' fosters inclusive, respectful environments, equipping institutions to engage meaningfully with tribal communities. These interactive, two-hour sessions are available in-person or virtually and can accommodate groups of any size.

Project Participation

Good Sky Guidance offers 'Project Participation' services, providing expert guidance to integrate Indigenous perspectives into your projects. We collaborate with organizations to incorporate traditional insights, fostering culturally inclusive and effective outcomes. Examples include developing museum exhibits, collaborating on water quality testing trainings, or hosting listening sessions on controlled fire use with tribal communities.

Ensuring Reciprocal Research

Western academic spaces have, both intentionally and unintentionally, caused harm to Indigenous communities worldwide. Ensuring that research conducted in partnership with tribal communities is respectful and reciprocal is crucial. Good Sky Guidance offers a four-phase approach to conducting qualitative and quantitative research, which includes relationship building, developing agreements and protocols, conducting the research, and ensuring reciprocity. This process safeguards against harm and promotes mutual respect.

Public Presentations

Good Sky Guidance offers engaging 'Public Presentations' that cover a wide range of topics related to Indigenous knowledge, environmentalism, and culture. These presentations are designed to educate and inspire diverse audiences, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of Indigenous perspectives. Each session typically includes a 45-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute Q&A, allowing for interactive discussions and deeper engagement with the material.
